australia gambling The number of Australian online gamblers is at top level at the moment which is worrying for the Australian government. The more they play online on foreign casinos, the less they play at the land based casinos where the government earns the money.

The new law against smoking and the increased popularity of online gambling takes care of less visitors to their land based casino. The profit was €7,27 million lower than in 2008. This results in less tax incomes for the government.

Another problem is the new policy of the government to lower the number of slots and poker machines in the country. The gambling lovers in Australia have to go online and play in foreign casinos who don't pay any taxes in Australia.

The government is now investigating for solutions and most probably they will block some online casinos, which is off-course a bad development for internet casinos.
