Irish Government open for legalizing online gambling

gambling ireland The Irish Government has started with creating a new law and providing licenses to casino clubs to make a first step to legalize gambling in the country, according to the Irish Times. They will also investigate the possibilities to legalize online gambling in Ireland.

Although officially gambling is illegal in Ireland, there are about 50 private clubs where you can gamble. The government set up a control board who will investigate gambling in private clubs and online gambling. The government wants to know the dangerous aspects and the possibilities to legalize gambling.

According to an investigation by the Irish Times the government will gain €280 million and creates about 13.000 new jobs.

Annalists of the gambling industry are enthusiastic about legalizing online gambling, but there is good investigation necessary for the many aspects of gambling addiction and the costs. Finally all the laws should be approved by the EU and there should be strong supervision by a special board.

Let's hope that the Irish government sees the many advantages of legalizing online gambling so the Irish people can enjoy of quality and trustworthy casinos.
